This was quite a fun game to watch on GoW, but the losing player could have easily won it.
VeNoM, was Core, and started with a standard veh-air start. He did good bombing, showing just how devastating the Shadow can be with its extra bombs. I thought he would air trans his comm quickly afterwards, but proceeds to go for Avengers, building 5 in total. The avenger is a poor match for the Arm FF, and combined with some sloppy u.c he loses them. Now he had little else to prevent Destroy taking all 3 other islands.
Venom realises this and goes sea, while continueing to harrass Destroy. He stops Destroy building on the top isle for a while, and gets con boats out massing sea resources to keep with Destroy's island resources. Once done Ven then comm rushes one of Destroy's isles, to balance it out a little. Good stuff. :D
Destroy went veh - air aswell, but after winning the air battle, and gaining all isles, makes a huge error, in building WAY to many MT, instead of getting mexxes. I dont see what the point of building 20 + MT is to defend 4 mexxes. His opponent was Core after all...he had no pels. ;o
By the time Destroy has capped all his mexxes avaliable to him, Venom had a very large sea economy. Destroy, finally gets his pels up, by 22 minutes. (sorry to slow for someone with sea economy), and then boasts that he has mass pels.
Yes, yes the massive number of 8 pels isn't gonna do much sorry.;/ All it did was give Venom metal!
The battle continues, with Venom massing crussies, and taking some damage, but again even losing 1 island, doesnt harm him, and infact gives Venom a very handy metal store to power out even more crussies :)
Really when you get your islands, air defense is important, but so are the mexxes. Destroy's production was much lower than it could have been. Also i felt that Destroy really could have gone sea earlier. Pels alone won't win you games unless you get them faster, and especially not when your opponent has been there for 15 minutes already. Also, i thought Venom could have made the most of his advantage with sea, and got an adv sea plant and carriers. Adv sea owns, especially a Warlord, when you have so much wreckage. :)
Overall, an entertaining game, and good to watch. Good to see someone come back from 1 island down. :) gg
