Review |
The other day one of the regular Zone experts was telling me how right side on Red Planet is so much worse then the left. Itīs all in the metal patches he explained, how many, how close to the start. I never thought about that before. But he had a point, and it shows in this game.
Nazty forgot/ignored his option to pick position and ends up on the right side, with Magix on the left. Most people would probably say that the better clan/player is BTU_Nazty, so in a way this game is balanced. At least in theory.
Early on, the demo looks like a very even matchup. Nazty raids better with his flashes, but has a lot more problems claiming land. Magix plays smart, instead of competing with Nazty for the big areas, he stays in a small but heavily defended corner. And thanks to being on the left side, his metal income is enough.
Unfair? Not really. Magix takes advantage of what he has, and expands slowly. Nazty on the other hand, doesnīt seem to have a plan to counter with. He almost needs twice the amount of everything, more flashes, larger area of the map, more defense.
Later in the game, it becomes an offensive vs. defensive battle. If I were Nazty in this game, Iīd be pretty damn frustrated. Magix is patient, slowly taking every little spot of land while making sure he canīt be counter attacked. Leaving no option for his opponent to take out structures without heavy losses in units. In a last desperate move, Nazty tries for a BB, a move that finally ended the game.
Not a great game, but it has some learning value for sure. |
