Review |
The battle between the clans continue. This time they have chosen Gods of War as their playground and they produce another of those intense, agressive games that made this map popular in the first place.
Classic start, one windfarming player on both sides, feeding their airborn teammates. But something is fishy. Even though Crip and Jorne build their airlabs as soon as they can, Cripīs is almost 30 seconds late. Might be an illusion because of commanderwarp, but Jorneīs bomber is as fast as Cripīs FF. Iīm not sure how to explain that one. Needless to say, it puts Nemesis team in a difficult situation right away.
When Jorneīs bomber begins to tear up winds on Wickedīs island, Crip does something I didnīt expect. He decides to defend instead of attacking, even though he has two FFs. Jorne has no defense on his island, and the game could have been much different, had Crip attacked with just one of them.
Jorne asked me to rate the players in this game, and I tried. But what really made the difference in this game wasnīt building or unit control, it was descisions. BTU should have a 9 there, and Nemesis team a 7. Jorne and Canuck had a very effective plan, building the right units at the right time. Attacking at the right place when their opponents were least prepared for it. Descisions, timing. The skills (and to some degree - luck) that often mean a lot more then controlling bombers and building up tidals.
Rest of the game has a few more suprises to offer and itīs great to see that a team in big trouble can be that creative and not just give up or porc into a corner to delay the defeat. Nemesis team looks for a comeback, and struggle to get there
Very entertaining gameplay from start to finish. |
