Review |
This demo features Soulrain and Pic playing, with Shollos and Soulrain joined as watchers. I guess they recorded it once more and joined to comment on the game, otherwise something fishy is going on here.
Most of you know who Pic is, but perhaps Soulrain is a new name unless youīve been around for a while. Soulrain was pretty much what BF became later, a very talanted and aggressive TA player with a short temper. In other words, Pic had a worthy opponent in this game.
Comet, just like GoW, is one of those maps where buildorders and detailed strats come and go. This demo pretty much shows what used to work. The winning strat of last year so to speak. Soulrainīs strat pretty much comes down to walking com and build Peewees, while Pic stays at his lab and guard out more cons. Itīs aggressive fast forward TA from the start, and the game ends in less then 900 kb.
Learning value... Well, Pic has continued to improve. And so has TA in general. Both players are still better then most experts in this demo, but donīt expect anything groundbreaking. Itīs just too old for that.
As for entertainment, I always find old demos interesting to watch. See how TA used to be. But the game is also short and lacks variation.
Download to see who won, and take a look at how Comet was played by the top dogs of 2000. |
