For anyone that played any kind of game with Boldok in the past, you probably noticed that he was the host. You probably also noticed that in an evening session of games, you were going to play about four or five. Your final observation should have been that three of the five were going to be on the following maps: Gods of War 2, Comet Catcher, and finally Painted Desert. Painted Desert 3v3 was a staple of the nightly FFAx games, and everyone in the clan quickly learned how to keep up, or at least delay defeat.
Lately Boldok has been playing a lot of Supreme Commander, and it shows. His labs go idle without the repeat button, and his cons go idle without a little pop up in the screen to let him know that they weren't busy. But that didn't stop him from being formidable in this game. In a way, 3v3s on other maps other than GoW2 have almost become a lost art... That's not to say that PD 3v3 wasn't overplayed in its day, its just not as common.
Nutrients and Triplos have an entertaining flash war, with both of them ending up in similar situations with Triplos just slightly ahead, and Corb tries a new build that backfires on him and he ends up well behind Mike, who simply builds missile towers. (I didn't count but I believe he had more than 200, and most of them never fired a shot...)
Boldok and Dude have the most interesting battle, with some good raiding, and with the exception of a few moments, the fight never dies between the two. Other fights fell silent in favor of porcing.
An interesting, and somewhat unpredictable (for at least the first 30 minutes or so) game that I enjoyed watching. Can't say you'll have the same experience, but hey, its TADRS! |
