Review |
It could have been a nice game on PD, facing 2 core veterans. What it becomes is just a record where you know perfectly well what is going to happen in the end, or it wouldnt have been sent to be reviewed.
It starts with Bzero using the usual strat on PD, lots of cons and raiding, while LocAnti tries the infamous air first start. Quickly it becomes clear that it doesnt work so well, mainly because Anti doesnt seem to be focused on his gameplay : aircons dying to instigs, energy stalling etc... during that time, bzero takes control of the map, quite slowly when u know he knows Anti went Air first. Nothing happens, then nothing continues to happen.
You wonder what is the interest of this game, and hope Anti will wake up and build units instead of cons and porcing himself, when he starts an advanced air plant, and begins massing rapiers. Oh no. Who sent that game, btw ? Anti. Gosh. A quick glance at Bzero's main base confirms your doubts : almost no AA, just enough to stop lonely bombers. Oh God.
And then it comes : Bzero Ctrl-Z his slashers for the final blow, begins attacking, and...
Overall, im not even feeling guilty for (almost) giving you the outcome of the game, cos it just doesnt feel right or surprizing. Both players show they have a strat in mind, and play pretty fairly, but if its fun to play that kind of game when youre not sure if your gamble will succeed, its unfortunately not fun at all when you watch both bases and can predict exactly what is going to happen. So, it was a nice move, but its not enough to make the game more interesting than "just below average".
Yummy technical facts :
Battle intensity : Low. Skill balance between 2 players : Somewhat unbalanced. Average Skill/Learning Value : Average. Originality : Air first on PD isnt that common. Fun : Not really. |
