What does Voi Vittu mean? I believe I've been told by some Finnish guy that it means "Fuck You." A map title of this name is more fitting for something like "The Pass" or "Gasbag Forrests." Essentially the map maker's way of extending his middle finger to the TA community. No this version of "Fuck You" is quite playable, and will have you waiting with baited breath until the next time you can "Fuck You"rself on this map.
This demo here just goes to show one thing that I think we've all known for a while now: Voi Vittu makes for great 2v2 games. Just the right amount of resource, land, and water to make it interesting.
This is a good demo to look at if you're looking for different takes on how to play this map. Both teams start out sound and Gaia and Glufetz get a little ahead. Just far enough ahead for Gaia to take most of the sea, and for Glufetz to get his guardian done before Tiptushi does up top. Then, I was just about shocked as Tip and Gluf entered into an epic guardian battle. I'm not sure about the exact time on this, but I think the guardian battle lasted anywhere from 4 to 5 minutes in game time. Most Epic.
While Gluf and Tip spend the majority of the first part of the game nanoblocking and repairing, Aprox is slowly taking back the water, using pelicans to push Gaia all the way back to his coast.
This game goes all the way into the late game phase, complete with Big Berthas, Roaches, and of course, Hawks. Very good game this one is. Very Good indeed.
