The Review:
A tournament game here folks. Which means it has more excitement attached to it than any normal game. More than just pride is riding on it.
So who are the players? Whe have the TA king of France, Med, vs the relatively unknown Ozzie who goes by Affirmative. Med brings French TA eckspurtness to the table. Yes brings the Unknown Ozzie factor. At least Im pretty sure Yes is from Australia. (I think he wore an OZ tag at one point.)
So how good is this unknown Ozzie factor? Apparently it was good enough to take down Medmo on the map that Yes selected. Yes is up at this point, 1-0, and is looking to bring yet another upset to this TA tournament. Upsets are exciting, you see. We all enjoy it in one way or another when the underdog claims victory.
So Med starts out by building a Zeus. After the Zeus he follows up with some metal extractors and then builds a warrior. Out of his warrior he pushes out a scorpion, which does a decent amount of work. Yes, on the other hand, builds a zeus, some mexes, and then a rocko before he builds his warrior and starts to build flashes out of it. All of this will happen if you dont download the Phreaks before you watch this game. They can be found at techsupportdesk.net, and for this game it might be worth downloading them just so you can watch this. Afterwards you can delete them if you need your TA to remain pure and unblemished.
So anyway, in reality, Theyve both built thier starting resources. Med seriously underestimates the Unknown Ozzie Factor, and finds himself in a huge bind. On Meds pick of map, Yes can claim victory for himself. Yes also takes advantage of the runaway con theory.
This is a theory in TA which states A construction vehicle when not in the normal areas of expansion is likely to be ignored, and may expand freely usually in a corner of a map early on in the game. As the runaway construction vehicle expands its chances of being discovered increase by the function of D(X)=T*(X^2+3)/100 where X is the number of structures and T is the time that has passed. Essentially the more the runaway con expands over time, the more likely it is that it will be discovered, because there are structures that enemy forces can bump into.
This is a good watch, and of course its fun to root for the underdog.
