Well this was a rather short game on gpp.
Both players rip each other apart in different styles, but one major error resulted in the game being turned.
Joker, played quite well at first, he did a slower start, built good resources, then started flashing Space from all angles. At first this appears to be working ok. However he obviously appeared to get carried away with the joys of flashing winds and mexxes and cleary forgot about one of the 2 resources in TA. He neglected to build any energy bar the few winds he built at the start of the game.
This was fine for 5 mins, but by the time he begins new plants he is nanostalling, and only decides that wind IS a good option after all, when he hears his d-gun clicking silently as Space’s 20 odd flashes decide to stop defending and attack. His base gets totally wrecked, and sets all his good work head on tail.
Space, opted for a rather strange strat, walking his comm quickly, and leaving his veh plant alone building flashes. He manages to walk a little bit, getting some quick mexxes, but his relatively undefended base gets hit from many angles. Space uses his flashes to defend, gradually increasing his groups numbers, and picking off Joker’s small 1-2 flashes that attack everywhere. After his base was well and truly, dissected Space obviously decided enough was enough and threw all his flashes at Joker. This basically drew the game even. Space though came out on-top and uses his flashes well to keep Joker in check, before ploughing in again.
This game was ok to watch, but does point out that building energy is very, very important in TA and forgetting to build it can turn a well played strategy into a disaster. |
