When I find a demo called blah_blah - nr5.zip I always asume that someone got beat four times in a row and finally managed to get a win. And of course, it's the winning demo that gets sent in.

In this case, I don't think that's what happend. Eyedoll plays a lot with daWicked, or Snoop, Snewp, Mattx or whatever you prefer to call him. I usually call him... anyway, on with the review.

These guys are evenly matched in most games, and they have had some great 1v1s. So, the brag game theory doesn't hold. I have a different theory why they decided to send this game, and not any of other 6+ games they played on The Cold Place. Reason is - they wanted to show the point where TA gets too big even for great players like these guys. Thanks for sharing!

This game is extra puls everything, king size with bonus rounds and three sequels. 6000 kills, 2 and a half hour gameplay. Anything you'd expect to see on a land/water map x 100. You need to go back to 315's PD demos to find something similar.

So what happends in the game? Snewp gets the better start and a good push up north. Eyedoll regroups and sends everything south instead. Snewp adapts and spread out and then... it just starts growing. You'd think that hitting with 3 nukes in the heart of Eyedoll's advanced production would win the game. It doesn't. Eyedolls 300-kill-BB can't win the game either.

Big. Game.

Now you might think that wow, this has got to be an amazing game with amazing building skills! Unfortunately it's not. The first hour or so is intense, both sides working on sneaky plans and creative strats. Great action. But after that they both seem to fall back and wait for the game to spontaniously end. The second half of this demo is like watching paint dry.

I don't blame them. I usually lose my focus after 30 minutes. To hang in there, fighting for a win after two hours instead of just quitting and go do somethign creative, takes a stubborn player.

This is a good game, with good players, with good strats, building and unit control. It's just 90 minutes too long.

You sitting on a modem? Don't bother. Otherwise, I recomend downloading this and turn the speed up to 300% after the first hour.
